Henriette Waal, alumni of finished Temporary Programme Vacant NL (2011-2013), is current artistic / research director at Atelier Luma in Arles, France.

Drawing on Maja Hoffmann’s vision to create a cross-disciplinary center that builds on local resources, materials, know-how and talent of Arles and beyond, Atelier Luma is a think tank, a production workshop and a learning network.

Henriette's projects include Colour Geographies and III+1. Using the richness of the Arles and Camargue palettes, Color Geographies harvests the region's colours and explores their impact as to the present and future perceptions of the territory.

With III+1, by creating a physical base at Parc des Ateliers, Atelier Luma wants to embody its basic principle: being accessible to all. This open environment becomes a laboratory where the know-how of a bio-region informs collaborative practices and the development of new projects.
