Biography
Gervaise Alexis Savvias (they/them) is a Zambian–Cypriot artist, writer, and researcher currently based between Amsterdam, NL and Nicosia, CY. They earned a Bachelor of Law from the University of Warwick in 2022. Their research work has been presented in the likes of Third World Approaches to International Law and Reinvention Journal; their writing and poetry has appeared in Shado Mag, Okay Donkey and Lolwe. Their (ongoing) archival research project, FISSILE MATERIAL, has been presented at spaces such as Endrosia (2023) and Thkio Ppalies (2024). They have hosted writing workshops, performed, showcased interactive installations, and presented lectures in the context of exhibitions and projects such as ‘nono, bad timing! archiving queer times and spaces’ (NiMAC, 2024), ‘weaving our nets’ (Fisherwomxn x Thkio Ppalies, 2024), EDN’s ‘Healing Atelier: Becoming Well Again’ (2024), BJCEM’s ‘Bodies of Work II’ (2023), and SESSIONS x SPEL (2023).
