Biography

Taylor Ljubica Anthonijsz (she/her) is a writer, researcher and assistent curator based in Amsterdam. She recently earned a Bachelor degree in Philosophy from the University of Amsterdam where she specialised in Critical Theory, Aesthetics and Curatorial Theory. Anthonijsz spent the final stage of her Bachelor writing on Contemporary Art Biennials perceived through the lens of Critical Theory. Concretely, she examined the phenomena of Biennialisation in conjunction with that which Horkheimer and Adorno have coined the Culture Industry, in order to shed more light on the Adornian prognosis of (aesthetic) criticality within modernity. The central question being whether - and if proven to be so, to which extent - Biennialisation is implicated in the dialectic of enlightenment.
