Biography

Allison Henriquez is an Aruban-American video and sound artist based in Rotterdam. Her practice thematically draws from psychoanalysis, mysticism and neuroscience and builds an aesthetic vocabulary out of banal scenes, found material and memes. Playing with memory patterns and dream states, her use of sound amplifies everyday oddities into a hermetical status. Her work brings into poetic conversation the human ability to collect and recall memories throughout various layers of consciousness, with contemporary visual obsessions and affective states.
