Biography

Anouk van Klaveren (b.1991) investigates the mythical and affective powers of objects and costumes. Through performances and site-specific interventions, she analyzes the mysterious conditions under which objects acquire symbolic meaning and become part of our identities. Her work explores the absurd logic underlying religious symbolism, luxury and consumer cult.
