The documentary 'no risk, no fun' can be viewed via the website of Omroep Flevoland: https://www.omroepflevoland.nl/gemist/video/8e-land-art-kunstwerk
Riff, PD # 18245 was created on the occasion of 100 years of the Zuiderzee Act. Just like the polder, the artwork was created in several phases. An ingenious construction of piles, piles and steel structures has been topped by a hill of 15,000 cubic meters of agricultural and Zuiderzee soil. A large cavity has been dug in this, which is covered with a layer of sprayed concrete and then provided with a concrete roof and stairs. After that, the monumental cast was excavated and the earth processed back into the landscape. The color, structure and shape of the excavated architectural image are determined by the typology of the landscape, the dug cavity and adhering sand and clay from the surrounding landscape.
As an excavated archaeological find, the monument recalls the special geology and the history of Flevoland. Riff, PD # 18245 is a print of Gramsma's dug trail in the Flevo soil and thus reflects, among other things, the reclamation and artificiality of the polder.
