Mirror Mirror | Kunsthal KAdE

A selection of videos made by Sandberg Instituut and Gerrit Rietveld Academie students was presented at the exhibition Mirror Mirror at Kunsthal KAdE, Amersfoort in August 2021. Participating artists included Daphné Keraudren, graduating student of Main Department Studio for Immediate Spaces (2019–2021), Catalina Reyes, graduating student of Temporary Programme Resolution (2019–2021), Lama Aloul, student of current Temporary Programme Disarming Design (2020–2022), Felix Caspary, Marjolijn Houdijk, and Antoine Piquemal.

The videos were made during “Special Effects with Zoom,” a workshop by Lotje van Lieshout, alum of Main Department Fine Arts (2007–2009), organized by Ineke Bakker and the MediaLab Sandberg Instituut, in March 2021.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic and everyone having to work from home we've entered the era of video calling. In this workshop we want you to rethink this medium. Could Zoom not only be used as a communication medium, but also an Art medium? Could a video call be art?
