Biography

With video, photography and performance, Catalina Reyes (1992) explores her own and her inherited lived experiences growing up in Chile, constantly looking at memory as a malleable source for reflection. She investigates her past through the cracks of oblivion, looking at them as tension points of forgetfulness. In this place of suspended time, she is able to create spaces of observation without fear, a safe space for endangered bodies. Looking at personal and historical narratives as intertwined, Catalina uses the investigation of memories and storytelling as part of her research process, constructing constellations of temporalities through her moving image practice.
