Il Trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno

Il Trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno For the Opera Aachen (NRW) I created a multidimensional time-based concept for the costumes of the Händel Opera ‚il Trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno‘. The costumes represent the allegories of the four main characters: beauty, pleasure, time and disillusion. The produced garments for this piece allowed interactivity. The singers were able to change the stage design by filming the patterns and images printed on their clothes thus projected to screens. Those photos, structures and actions developed out of the garments being performed on stage implied underlaying relationships of the four protagonists and a commentary to the original libretto. The characters use clothing as their own narrative voice within the opera plot.
