The video documents Modern Day Slavery - the "Kafala sponsorship system" for migrant domestic workers in Lebanon. The Kafala system is a a form of exploitation used by the Gulf states - as well as Lebanon and Jordan that require sponsorship for migrant workers coming from African and southeast Asian countries working mostly in the construction and domestic sectors. Once their legal status is payed by one of their employers they face a range a of abuse, such as non-payment of wages, a lack of rest time and days off, physical and sexual assault and unable to leave the country without permission.
