Tranquility Machine
Tranquility Machine is a pop-up temple that was located at Floriade Festival in Almere. Throughout the duration of the Festival, which spanned seasons, it was harvesting local weather data, channeling it into an (utra)sonic guided meditation session. At the center of Tranquility Machine spins a hanging mobile, which reflects and pushes rays of directional sound around the space, creating a nearly tangible, ASMR-like sonic experience. All parts of this mechanism, including mobile's rotation speed and pace, are controlled by local weather data in real-time. The data is collected by an ensemble of sensors on the machine and nearby trees.
