Biography

Naira Nigrelli is a cultural worker and former student representative in the Participation Council and in the Appointment Advisory Committee, to profile the new chair of the Gerrit Rietveld Academie. These positions inform her into articulating and contextualising questions about infrastructural maintenance-design and collective-archiving. She currently works at Gerrit Rietveld Academie conducting a research on the role of education in professionalisation. As an organisational designer, Naira investigates the means by which accessibility is made possible and the effects on existing systems in distributed governance. Naira has initiated and curated several exhibitions with venues such as Het Nieuwe Instituut (Rotterdam), The Grey Space in the Middle (The Hague), PIP and Hoop Den Haag. Amongst others, her work has been showcased at ARCAM (Amsterdam), Framer Framed (Amsterdam) and Documenta15 (Kassel). Her Master's thesis is available and published by Onomatopee in July 2022 in the collection of "Durable Discussions".
